A note from founder, Shakira Anderson
Hi, I’m Shakira — mama to the brightest Ray of Sunshine, my daughter Z’rae.
Back in 2020, during lockdown, I started writing Z’rae’s Adventures because I wanted her — and children like her — to see themselves in stories that celebrated their names, their strengths, and their uniqueness. My first two books, I Love My Name and Super Special Me, were born out of love, hope, and a deep belief that every child deserves to shine.
But the journey didn’t stop there. Over time, I realized that what I wanted most was to create not just stories, but a sanctuary — a place where families navigating special educational needs (SEN) could feel seen, supported, and uplifted. That’s how Rae of SENshine came to life. 🌈
Rae of SENshine is more than a platform. It’s a community, a safe space, and a celebration of difference. It’s where parents can find encouragement, children can find representation, and together we can create a world where self-love, respect, and advocacy are everyday values.
Z’rae is at the heart of it all — her light, her resilience, and her joy inspire every word, every resource, and every connection.
